Car Accident

Understand Your Rights

We are accident lawyers. When someone is involved in a car accident, insurance companies try to resolve the claim as quickly and as efficiently as possible in order to minimize their own loss. The insurance company on the other sude do not owe a duty to be fair and just to the injured party. That's where we come in.

It has been shown that those who represent themselves will get the short end of the stick when it comes to negotiating with an experienced insurance adjuster. Claims are often settled for half or a third of what they should be when people negotiate their own settlement with an insurance adjsuter. Therefore, it is often a waste of money to not hire a lawyer when prosecuting an injury claim against the party who caused the accident. We have settled millions of dollars of car accident claims and offer free case evaluations

Car Accident Injury Claims

A common theme that car insurance adjusters like to use is low impact to minimize the amount of injury that someone sustains as a result of an accident. Some adjusters justify their low settlement offers based on the property damage and disregard the medical bills and treatment. If we cannot get a fair compensation for our client, we are always ready to file suit and take it to court.

  • 42 year old male struck due to improper lane change: awarded $28,411.42
  • 23 year old female rear-ended: awarded $17,500
  • 22 year old male rear-ended: awarded $24,000
  • 73 year old female rear-ended: awarded $34,000
  • 60 year old male rear-ended: awarded $28,500
    * Every case is unique. Past results are not indicative of furture recovery

The above examples are what some insurance adjusters consider low impact. If you were involved in an accident that is not your fault, let us evaluate your case. There is a three-year statute of limitations on claims related to a car accident, which means that if you wait too long, your claim will expire and you will lose your claim.

For accident claims, we typically work on a contingency fee basis, which means that we don't get paid unless you get paid.

Types of Car Accidents

  • Head-on collision
  • Rear-end crash
  • Side impact / swipe
  • Hit and run
  • Rollover accidents
  • Truck jackknife

We see a lot of rear-end crash, hit and run, and pedestrian accidents in our office. In Washington, drivers have a duty to avoid colliding with a vehicle in front of them by maintaining a safe distance and stopping when possible. Drivers are expected to anticipate that the car in front of them may suddenly stop unless it is in area where stopping would be unexpected. Hit and run accidents occur when the other driver flees the scene of an accident. This is not the same as a phantom vehicle accident, which occurs when an accident occurs despite having no impact with another vehicle. Lastly, pedestrian accidents are unfortunately too common. Pedestrians are protected by the drivers insurance policy. Thus, if the driver had Personal Injury Protection coverage, then the driver will be required to pay for all of the pedestrian's medical bills related to the accident regardless of fault.

Injuries in Car Accidents

People often do not realize that they are injured until a day or two after the accident. It is important to not discuss your injury with anyone until you see a doctor. Although some people have experience handling their own property damage claim (car repair), handling an injury claim is completely different and seperate from the property damage claim. After an accident, give us a call.
